Job went well

September 30 2006 at 6:25 PM
Joe M

Today I did a job for a teacher at the school I work for.

Two rooms using my new vento and one love seat. I used encap ds and I did the love seat the safiest way I know by using a sea sponge and toweling it off.

All I can say is wow. Took 10 min drive time each way, 1 hour and 30 min for the full job and charged 190.00 and was given a 10.00 tip.

$200 for about two hours worth of work and drive time.

And she loved the job, customer could not believe the results.

I think I might be on to something here.

I still can't believe it.

Nice Job Joe. I have a couple of ?'s for you. How many s.f. did you clean? How much do you charger per s.f. and since you are the first I've heard of with the Vento, how do you like it? Don't you have a Challenger also? How would you compare the two.

That's some good dinero for 2 hours.

Good job joe!! Keep it up. Get some fiber plus pads for that Vento and when you hit a nasty traffic lane prescrub it with the fiberplus and then pad it and you will be amazed even more. Good luck.

room size

September 30 2006, 10:23 PM

I charged 50 for the luv seat, 35 for bed rm and the other rm was a great rm and it was 105( a good size room). I didnt give sq ft. I go flat rate. I just like the flat rate on res work better then sq ft. Business work is sq ft.

The Vento works great. Its a little more weight then the Challenger, but I really think its a smoother running machine.

Rate Structure?

October 1 2006, 2:27 PM

Hi Joe, So how do you determine your room rate then? Do you have a sliding scale based on size or do you just give a ball park over the phone and then before you start cleaning give them your final?

Ball Park

I let them tell me the size and I give a price to what I think is fair.

You need to remember this is only for res work.

Comm work when I get any will be sq ft.

Sq. Ft.

Hi Joe,
May I make a suggestion? Price all cleaning by the sq, ft. Estimate by the room you may be loosing money. Just a suggestion from 9 years in the business.

Quote by the square foot/linear foot.If quote is under your min.service charge, go uo to your min.Be fair and square but most importantly,do not be afraid to charge accordingly!
