24" cimex?!

October 31 2006 at 4:16 PM

Joe

I thought I read a post that someone used a 24" (or something)cimex to clean carpet...Is that true? I saw one that was used for scratching up concrete - it was filthy and caked with cement.

So, it is feasable to buy a 24" cimex and go after HUGE jobs??

thanks, joe

Having owned one, the biggest problem I had was getting enough power to it. 15 amp outlets just don't cut it with that big mamma. Today the Avenger would do just fine for large spaces.

Oh yes! We use one all the time on large commercial jobs. It takes a hoss to operate it but it flat has a huge cleaning path. We got with Rick and purcased a tank and valve assembly and put it on ourself. Works like a champ. We love it. We are now looking for a used 15" for small areas.

I've had a 24" Cimex for around a year and a half. I have had no trouble with obtaining enough power to operate it, although I only use it in fairly large commercial situations: hotels; country clubs; large apartment and condo buildings, in the hallways (elevator buildings, of course!) While it does take a bit more muscle to keep it moving along, it's not really a chore. And keep in mind that there is also a 30" Cimex.
