| I am finding my new commercial customers are very knowledgable when it comes to their carpets being cleaned. I have recently added one big account and am in negotiations with a huge account (already have the tile and grout).
The account I closed called me and asked "Do you use Releasit?" We scheduled a meeting and she knew as much (actually more) about encapsalation products as I did. The reason I say more is she had kicked out one other company and wouldn't hire another because of the way there Encap product performed. So she showed up at the meeting with her dish to take a sample with her to see how it crystilized. She signed up to a year contract 17500 sq ft.
The account I'm in negotiations with wanted to make sure my methods and chems didn't void the carpet manf warr. Also they are looking beyond the cleaning, and looking at the nice thinks we can do. Monthly spotting trips in key area's,
appearance of the cleaner, etc.
Anyway thanks Rick and staff for the website and great product it got me a new customer (maybe two fingers crossed) |

Hi Rick ... (Seems to be quite a few of us).
And congratulations on your landmark acount!
I am strongly considering commercial carpet cleaning in the Spring of next year in anticipation of returning to flight school. A lot of establishments prefer "after hours" accomodations which fits right into my class day schedule. I'm certified CCT, UFT - with CMT training next month.
My question is this, if I may ask, is what was your approach to getting an account like this? Cold Call? Ad/Letter? Word of mouth? Etc.?
I am my own worst salesman when it comes to cold calling. The unwelcoming response from the receptionist or door guard can be a wearing effort trying to land sizeable accounts. My time would be much more efficient doing more in one place compared to as much in several places.
Any information from you would be beneficial for my approach. I thank you in advance for your timely response.
Rick

Rick I am certainly not the guy to be asking these questions. What I was trying to say in my post is I'm seeing a new breed of customer that is more knowledgeable and looking for different things. I didn't mean to make like I was a guru. There is tons of information on this board and the small success that I've had has come from freinds in the industry and following the info from this board.
Feel free to call at anytime and we can chat 770-598-7463. |
