Concrete finish sanding

I have a quote to do on a concrete new construction floor. What they want is me to come in and sand or screen the floor inbetween coats of finish. Epoxy I think. The guy just said to take the sheen off of the first coat so the second one would stick? It is a large area and I thought the cimex might help make short work of it. Do they make something that would work for this? He says that they usually use a slow speed buffer and buy the sanding disk from lowes. He wants to supply me with the disk and have me use my 175 buffer to do the work. I still think I could move quicker with my CIMEX. I wonder if the lightening strip pads would be strong enough to scuff the finish?

Hi Tracy

I haven’t done this exact thing but I’m pretty certain it will work; you’re running the 400 rpm Cimex right?

To answer your question, no the Lightning Strips pads wont work for that.

Take the screens and cut them down to fit under your Fiber Plus pads. Most wood floor guys run pads in between their screens and their drivers. I don’t know why it wouldn’t work for you too. My guess would be that you’ll want to use 80 – 120 screens but I’m just guessing.
