Using CRI "approved" equipment...will it really be necessary to stay afloat?

December 17 2006 at 11:19 PM

i think it's a bunch of bologna that you basically have to pay a company off to have a piece of equipment listed as "approved" (by WHOSE standards??? GRRR)

at any rate, will the Cimex ever be "approved"?

will i risk getting sued by using my Cimex on CGD after the 1st of the year? or am i already at risk?

i may have to buy a steamin demon for my resi jobs (and some comm), i don't see the Challenger or any OP machine ever being "approved".

thanx --- Derek.

EDIT: the S.D. would be JUST SO i could be CRY "approved"...ridiculous.

Derek,

No need to fret.

It's hard to say if the Cimex will be approved. At this time the CRI is not testing any kind of scrubbers.

However you may be interested to note that ALL of the testing that gets done for the CRI is performed for them by a single independent outside laboratory (Professional Testing Laboratory) in Dalton Georgia.

Well a Cimex was sent to that very laboratory for testing. And it PASSED!
A whopping 22 passes using FiberPlus pads and Releasit were made on a cut pile nylon commercial carpet.

Test results: http://www.cimex-usa.com/brochures/TestResult100742.pdf

22 PASSES! It certainly appears that the Cimex can be considered safe for carpet.
I guess we'll just have to wait and see where the CRI goes with this.

Is it not ironic that a "CRY certified" piece of equipment, ( say a truck mount for instance ), may be "certified" to do a commercial clean, yet this would not give as good a clean as what the 'Mex; would.

Maybe some of the brains trust that think up these splendiferious ideas should be certified !!!

Cheers,

Shorty.

I've seen the light, and changed my ways.

Derik I would not buy anything just to be CRI certified and I sugest the same for anyone thinking to do the same. We should buy equipment because we need it to run our operations effectivly.

Cimex would not pass what they are testing for now which is soil removal.
Lets fact it Cimex unless using bonnets or pads (cotton) does not remove much soil. For the process most of use use the Cimex for the Vacuuming after is where the soil is removed.
