| I am giving a proposal to maintain carpets for a school corporation. Three elementary, one JR High and one SR High building. All comercial glued down to concrete. The current janitor staff is having problems that the Cimex and Releasit should solve. Spots coming back, musty smell from the in house wet extraction system, and hours upon hours of labor.
The A/C is off in the summer to save money. Current janitors set up blowers and dehumidifiers to dry carpet. The carpet still smells musty to teachers other staff.
Here is my main question. How long will it take for the carpet to dry in a school with the A/C off? The school is in Indiana. We have hot and humid summers. I have been 1 to 2 hr. drying times. Should I insist the A/C is on for a few days?
Any information would be very helpful.
Thanks,
Jamie Menard

i wouldn't need the AC, with high humidity i'd reckon it'd dry in 4-5 hours. hopefully they don't have a water problem (poor drainage and it is coming up thru the concrete or from outside, in).
looking forward to others replies though.
thanx --- Derek. |

Tell them you'll need the air on for 12 hours. The moisture has to go somewhere. If the air is full of moisture, there isn't any room for evaporation. Plus the biggest reason for AC is YOUR COMFORT. If I was stuck in a hot dank classrooms sweating my guts out, I'd charge them at 50% extra.
If it were my account I would request three things
(1) 12 hours of AC (that leaves a window of time for you to get your work done and for drying)
(2) Have them move all desks and junk out of the way (or charge them extra)
(3) Have them thoroughly pre-vacuum (or charge them for the time it will take for you to do it)
All three of those requests would be easy for them to accommodate using their in-house staff.

Hi Rick,
Thank you for the e-mail. I always appreciate hearing from the "Encap Boss Man" I have a great opportunity to work for a school corporation. My "Clean Carpet" presentation got me in the door and it may turn into three elementary schools, a Jr HI and a High School. My test cleaning was a hit. I have changed my approach from selling the Big Bytler System best, equipment, and chemicals to Clean Carpet. It makes so much sense.
The Cimax system and your chemical development has completley changed my business. I am targeting twenty commecial accounts and plan to call on them every week until the give an opportunity.
Would you get a second Cimax or consider an Avenger? What is your price on a ner Cimax?
AGain thank you for the help.
