Have you tried gliders underneath? When I got my Challenger OP machine it did the same till i put the gliders underneath to reduce the friction...definatley doesn't clean as well as my Mex though!

Doug,

It all depends on the brand of OP machine you're using. There are OP machines that run like a jackhammer, and there are OP machines that glide along with ease. It all comes down to machine design. The Challenger and the Vento have well balanced counterbalances. Both of these machines are a pleasure to run. At Connections, everyone who stopped at our booth (who owned one of the the other OP's) and tried the Vento or the Challenger commented on the smooooothness of the Vento and Challenger. Without exception, SMOOTH was the word they used to describe these machines.

I own a Vento and I must say; It is a smooth running machine.

It almost glides across the carpet.

I own a Hruby which is the same machine as a Vento. Both of this machines are under powered. They have the same motors. Very far from a smooth running machine. You better order a thick glider and know a drywall repair specialist.

The New Hruby/Vento has the same size motor as my Hruby. I use it about three times a week. Piece of junk. The new or old ones are no different.

You're wrong Waldo.

The new units have 1hp motors. Yours doesn't.

And the new models have been redesigned.

Someday I might buy a cimex. I would buy it from you because you know your stuff about the Mex. As far as OP machines you have a lot to learn If I ever need another boat anchor I would purchase a Hruby/El Vento. Its the lowest of all lows on the OP market today.

If you ever tried a new Vento I seriously doubt you'd be saying that.

If somebody wants to waste 1500 dollars on a rebuilt Hruby/Vento its their loss. I have already been taken for 1200 dollars by Hruby/Vento. My next OP machine will be able to turn a pad.

Waldo,

You have NOT been "taken" by a Hruby/Vento. Because the Vento is my trademark name. And no one EVER gets taken by me or my company. If a customer ever has even a slight problem with anything we sell, we take care of them. You purchased an old design machine from Hruby. The Vento is a NEWLY designed machine from the ground up. You purchased an old Hruby you did not purchase a Vento from me so there is no comparison here. If you have a problem with Hruby take it up with them. You will never have a problem with me, because I won't let that happen.

Maybe the problem with my Hruby is that I need to put some mountain bike handle bars on it and call it good. I would NEVER buy a Vento because it is made by Hruby. Junk is junk. I have owned a Hydramaster before and if their name was ever associated with another machine. I would never buy one of their machines again. Junk is junk. There are way better TM's out there to purchase. Just like there are way better OP machines then the Hruby/Vento.

I have a CCS Conqueror machine with the 3/4 motor, it spins the rag just fine. I tried Rick's machine at Connections. I was smoother then my Conqueror machine. I would assume that part of that was due to the handle bars. I believe it had a thin glide under it when I tried it on the cut pile commercial. Still smoother.

Steve get a clue. Any machine with a glider on a over ShampoOed commercial carpet will turn a pad. Even my POS Hruby/Vento will do that.

not trying to say your statement is true or not

just telling it like I seen it

I see in the post below that you bought some shampoo, hope you used it on the carpet and not those gorgeous Ted Nugent locks of hair you have. LOL, how is the new baby, about a year old now?

Yep I was Rickys first customer of the New Year. I cleaned a high rise with the sHaMpOo. Because I could not get my TM to it. I was surprised on how little soil was picked up in my cotton pad. Barely any dirt. Compared to other products I use. I have no idea on how it looked because it was still wet. Thats why I like my TM better it has a killer blower and my carpets are dry when I am rollin up my hoses. All my commercial gluedowns problems have been solved with my T wand and Greenglide. Yep the little one is almost a year. She is awesome.
