Any real benefit to pile lifting before &/or after encapping?

??????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????
Before I can see it removing more dry, abrasive soils than vacuuming alone. What about after its dry? More thorough removal of the crystals & left over dirt? What do you guys think?

Yes and Yes.

Commercial carpets are normally constructed with densely packed fiber that can trap a ton of soil. A Pile Lifter is ideal for digging into the fiber, lifting the impacted tufts, and pulling up the soil that's loaded into the carpet's backing. A Pile Lifter accomplish this better than even the best commercial vacuum cleaner. There's also a benefit of running a Pile Lifter following encap cleaning to remove the crystallized residue.

That being said, Pile Lifters are not the greatest vacuum cleaners as a stand-alone vacuum cleaner. What a Pile Lifter excels at is lifting the pile to prepare it for cleaning. Pile Lifter's (doesn't matter which brand) all fall short when it comes to capturing fine soil. They can dig it out but they have a hard time swallowing. Now if you were to run a Pile Lifter along with a commercial vacuum, that would be the best of both worlds.

This has me stressed. Our industry can build a $90K Vortex but they still have trouble getting dry soil out of the carpet. Hello? Is anybody listening? Apparently not! So here's what we have...

We carry the following items because each of them excel at dry soil removal. Are they perfect? No. But they're the best that the industry has to offer at this point in time.

1) The Hoover Conquest: I like these mostly because of their aggressive brush roller design. They dig into the carpet pretty well. These aren't "clean" vacuums though. But they are effective removers of dry stuff. And they're built as solid as a tank. Our customers have really liked these.

2) The Lindhaus RX Hepa: Probably the best vacuum cleaner on the market. It has two motors and excellent suction, of course that could be said about a lot of vacuums. There are two things that stand out however, brush roller speed and filtration. Unlike the Hoover, the Lindhaus is a CLEAN vacuum. Filtration is excellent! What I like best though is the brush speed. The brush roller spins at 5,000 rpm (over twice as fast as the leading vacuum on the market). So it's able to agitate the fiber better than other vacuum cleaners. Since we started selling these the response has been very positive!

3) X-Vac Pile Lifter: Kleenrite recently introduced their new X-Vac Pile Lifter. This is the first redesign of a Pile Lifter in MANY years. This new machine is a sweet Pile Lifter. Excellent agitation and improved soil recovery make it the best Pile Lifter I've seen to date. We just started carrying these and we like 'em a lot!

So that's what we've come up with to try to address the limitations of recovering dry soil from carpet. I've looked for SERIOUS pieces to get the job done as efficiently as possible. Are these machines perfect? Like I said above, unfortunately nothing is. However they're the best units I've found to get dry crud out of carpet.
