Green Eggs and Ham is a childrens book written by Dr. Seuss and can be found in any library. It is a quick read, about 20 minutes. Mark is making a good suggestion. Also, contact Howard Partridge about his up-comming TeleSeminar on Jan. 23rd, there may still be room, 1&1/2 hrs plus tons of follow-up material for $97 is a bargin.

Green Eggs and Ham

January 17 2007, 6:03 PM

A few years ago on a message board Ray told the world he had just read a fantastic book on marketing. And in the usual Ray Moody fashion he said he'd tell us what the book was in a few days (Ray's a tease). We all waited anxiously for the next few days for Ray to tell us about this great book (actually I think it took him that long to finish reading it). A few days later Ray revealed to us that the book was the Dr Seuss classic "Green Eggs and Ham". Ray was not joking either. That's the great thing about Ray, he can see things that a "normal" guy wouldn't get. As Ray explained it - the great marketing lesson of "Green Eggs & Ham" is this...

Sam-I-am's efforts to get his friend to try "green eggs and ham" is perpetually unsuccessful. The friend refuses to eat the dish, and only wants to be left in peace. Sam-I-am goes through a variety of locations (house, car, tree) trying to persuade his friend to eat, but with no success. The triumphant conclusion occurs when Sam-I-am's friend finally agrees to try the dish and actually loves it!

And THAT my friend is the lesson. Sam-I-am knew what every good marketer has had to learn - PERSISTENCE pays off!

marketer, but, Ray....I have to say this: That is excellent. I, in a million years, never picked up on that (of course, it's been about a million years since I read Green Eggs & Ham). Simply fantastic concept and so true. You, my friend, are a genius.

Another point of this book.....

BTW that was an excellent explaination of the book by Rick, who has the ability to explain even the most complex, and make it understandable for all, especially chemicals and their uses. A friend of Dr. Seuss bet hin $250 he could not write a book using only 50 words (50 different words, not 50 total words) and he won the bet with Green Eggs and Ham.
