| I have been using a Hoover Conquest (14in.) for a little over a year now. There is no telling the tens of thousands of sq. ft. we have vacuumed with it. A lot of really rough rental and repo stuff besides tons of resi and other commercial. It still has the original belts and brushes on it! I have always used it with the dirt cup which saves a lot on bags. But I was getting tired of it staying dirty all the time (the dirt cup is always a mess to empty). Also when vacuuming if you bump the bag into anything you see a nice puff of dirt going through the custys home. So a few weeks ago I decided to change it over to bags. I thought it did a great job before, but now the suction is mind-blowing. I thought something was wrong the first time I tried it with the bag. You could'nt hardly push it. So now I have to run it at least 2 clicks higher than I did before, some times 3. The Hoover Conquest is a cleaning beast and I accidentally made mine better. Don't like buying bags but with the increased performance I'm going to leave it this way. If there is a tougher, better performing vac out there I would love to see it. I used Sanataire uprights for the first 3 years of business. They are very good vacs and the motors will run forever, but I was changing belts pretty often and it wanted to spit small rocks and other similar debris back out. Well enough said, just thought some Conquest owner might be interested. |

Joe,
It sounds like the pores of your cloth bag had become clogged from usage and the paper bags are performing better because they're not clogged. This would explain why you are seeing better suction with paper over a cloth bag.
Glad to hear that you like your Conquest. They really are awesome vacuums.
Thanks for sharing that info.

thanx for the info Joe! i don't like to use mine just for that reason. and it is not practical for me to have to vac out the inside of the cloth bag with my canister or backpack vac after every few uses...not going to happen.
i don't mind buying bags if it will increase filtration, help keep mine at optimal suc power AND help from blowing dust.
Joe, will these paper bags fit on my dust-cup'ed Conquest? Rick, do you sell these bags?
thanx --- Derek. |

Derek,
You have to buy the bag kit for the Conquest. I don't know if Rick sells them but I got my kit from Jon Don. Cost was around 45 bucks and bags are'nt very expensive. |

I quit using the dirt cup about a yr ago. I just couldn't handle all that dust. Your outer cloth
bag should say Anti-Allergen on it. The bags for it are the best fitting bags I have ever seen, and large. There is no leakage from this set up. Your customers and lungs will thank you. BTW the Conquest is the toughest vac I know of. |
