| It seems as though hwe as well as cimex cleaning is the way to go as a dual cleaning method. Example: hwe with punch for a nasty stain then mex afterward. I tend to perceive this concept from the board, is there truth to the dual cleaning method?............ If so, what is the best PORTABLE to obtain for encap? Does Rick Galinas have them?

I have an Olympus M200H it works just fine. These are available from Bridgepoint/Interlink Supply.
Rick sells Steamin Demons.
If I was buying another portable I would highly consider a Cross American Recoil 3. It can be hooked up to fresh water and waste tanks. They also have vac boosters available. I have heard the performance is about the best you can get from a portable. With a quality generator you could even run it like a truck mount for a much lower start up cost then a truckmount.
I think Derek has or did have one, so he could give you the real low down.
I would also consider a rotary extraction tool with a portable. I have a "Classic" Rotovac. They have a new Rotovac 360. You could also look at RX-20's and Drymasters. This will help put your portable performace closer to truckmount performance and much easier on your body.

my ninja work's well for me and only 1 cord and very light especially after pre scrubbing with my cimex but i guess if you didnt pre scrub youd need a more powerful portable like the recoil because of the higher psi and vac. |

there are SO many options & variables with portables. i had a 1-corded Bain (underpowered machine for me) and a 2-corded Recoil 3 (powerful). sold them both.
i am now considering a Steamin Demon, another portable. if you can afford one, then you might want to consider it. i assume this is for commercial CC'ing mostly?
if it were me, and i were going to 2-step it with a 'Mex and HWE combo, i would 1st Cimex it, THEN follow with a HWE rinse.
i don't see it is neccesary to 2-step it very often, but if you want to, that is how i'd do it.
thanx --- Derek. |

Hi!
I have a Recoil and a XL-15, both are very nice units. If you are doing commercial I would suggest the Steamin Demon. If it is residential do you work alone or have a helper? If with a helper, I'd probably go the the Demon. If doing it solo I'd go with the Recoil. The auto dump/fill are pretty nice options, but add to the cost, time, and weight. If it is just you by yourself, I'd also look at the CFR/Powrflite/Taucony units that "recycle". I've had pretty good success with those in the past. And the single cord unit is kind of nice, depending on the load of the circuits. Of course that is not an issue with you own power supply. I use a Wonder Wand often with my Recoil and like it pretty well, it isn't for everything but not bad.
I agree with the the point of agitation of prespray prior to extraction/rinsing. I believe it helps in removal of soils, accelerating the rinse cycle. The use of Cimex after extraction seems more about wicking and acceleratiing dry time to me. Of course one can/should do both. That is agitate prespray, and post pad/bonnet to get the "most" out of the effort. That way optimum soil removal, and wickback prevention is achieved. Just have to charge to make it worth it, also as I get older it seems like an awful lot of energy expended. Hope they all pay well and call back. |

I have a recoil 3 for sale it is a great unit and I used it from the truck. I have the 40 gal sol and waste tanks, little giant heater hose reels etc.
The only reson I went to a TM is because I'm doing a lot of Tile and Grout and need more pressure. Other wise I like the relability of the Recoil. Give me a call if you are interested 678-350-3402 I'm in Atl. |

As long as I have been in business I've always recognized that Kleenrite makes some of the very best portable equipment that money can buy. Well we've recently gotten established as a Kleenrite distributor. We've started selling their new X-Vac Pile Lifter - it's awesome. We don't have the extractors listed on our website yet, but we can provide you with any of their models, at a discounted price. Check out their broad range of extractors and give us a call if you see something you like... http://www.kleenritemfg.com/products/index.html Steamin Demons are also excellent if you want to go that route. We carry those too.

We use both the Recoil 3 with the extra tanks and Steamin Demons XL and Classic modles for extraction both have there place and for me it is not an either or desision. I need both of them.
With a High pressure pump the Recoil does Tile and Grout find with our Pro Races or hard surface wand.
I have always srubbed in prespray even when I used a TM, We use either a cylindrical brush machine or a rotary. You can use a heater with both extraction units also.
I seem to be VLM more and more these day when doing commerical since most of the accounts we are doing have been with us for a while. We will do what ever the client indicates they want us to do and we have the tools to do it for the most part. |
