Back in December I had the privilege of attending Michael Gerber's "In The Dreaming Room" seminar out in California. It was an invigorating 3-day experience. Michael is on a mission to transform small businesses by awakening the entrepreneur within each one of us. Well I just got off a conference call with Michael (an ongoing event that participants of the Dreaming Room get to share in from time to time). Needless to say I'm pretty stoked right now about what I just experienced. So I figured I'd come here and share a little of it with you. Here are a couple of the highpoints from today's conversation¦

There are GREAT business ideas lying inside each one of us! The problem is that most of us will never allow our dream or vision to materialize. The cynic within us says - NO don't go there, I'm not comfortable with that! We live in our comfort zones, never daring to expand into something larger than our present world that feels "safe" to us. Therefore we never truly experience what it means to be an entrepreneur.

However those great ideas that are buried within us can and will grow if we nourish them. If we give them attention, if we get inside these ideas and go deeper, we can unlock a larger idea than we ever imagined possible. And that is a small idea of what the Dreaming Room is all about. It is the idea of getting inside, going deeper, asking ourselves the questions that need to be asked, and awakening the entrepreneur within each one of us.

It's Michael Gerber's opinion, and I agree, that nearly every human on the earth is sleeping. Nearly every business suffers because the business owner is NOT seeing the incredible opportunities that could be explored and developed. The problem is that most of us won't allow ourselves to have the freedom to DREAM.

As I have begun the process of entrepreneurial dreaming I'm seeing all kinds of opportunities that are in front of me. I see opportunities that are in front of our industry. I've already begun applying concepts of the Dreaming Room to my businesses and I have some BIG things now on the horizon. This is EXCITING! It is really cool to be working on developing a truly world class enterprise - that's what I envision.

So the question that each of you can ask yourself is this: Are you stuck? Are you going through the motions in your business? Or are you building something amazing? What is your DREAM for your company? What is the VISION for your business? What PURPOSE does your company serve - you, your employees, and your customers? And is that dream, vision and purpose clearly followed through in your company's MISSION?

Truer words could not have been spoken, Rick! I'm confidnet all of us to some extent go thru the motions and dare to achieve what we are truly capable of. Without a doubt, this board is a great tool in that process and am personally so thankful for it. Thanks for sharing that. I have been thinking the last week or two that I am getting comfortable because the great growth I want to see is not occuring. I have also been putting off some really good ideas I have for years because they will cause me to do things that do not come easily for me. (Such as speaking in groups) Tomorrow that shall change. It is time to shake things up again. Thanks for the inspiration.

I have tons of ideas, thoughts and concepts...

My problem is 2 things...

1 NO MONEY to put forth the ideas...

2 No artistic/marketing smarts worth a damn....

I have all these things in my head but I am not talented enough(in this area) to get it from brain to paper to fruision<sp>....and such lays my continuing aggony
