Too much?

I've read a few times on this board warnings of using too much water when encapping and also that too much foaming or sudsing is not desirable. What exactly are the consequences of too much water (besides overwetting) with VLM (besides defeating the whole low moisture concept) and over foaming? I'm asking because some responses to Alex's post was that he used too much solution and to much moisture and I'm having a hard time understanding how that would make the carpet look so so great.

the main reason i see: too much encap solution will not help the wickback problem that VLM (especially encap) fixes.

so, why use too much?

it takes practice to figure out how much is right for each job. i am a SLOW learner, and i'm not kidding. it took me a couple years....that's sloooow.

it's not a HUGE deal, but then again, it kinda is.

thanx --- Derek.
