Do you explain the process to prospects & clients?

Derek

i did for the 1st 2 years of Cimex'ing.

for the past year now i never have or see the need. i explain benefits of quick-drying, negation of spots wicking, low-noise factor and the like. i close more deals now than the first 2 years. i believe it is because i am more confident in my abilities and realized i don't need to explain anything.

so how about you fellas?

Pro CC'er --- Derek.

I agree, im about 2 years into my buiz and I always found the need to explain every detail. After time and reading up on these boards about marketing and such, I have been confident enough not to worry about getting to detailed unless they ask. Most of the time they dont care as long as I come off as someone they can trust/believe, and of course if the carpets are clean!

Position yourself as an expert in your field and your clients and prospective clients will trust that you will use the appropriate method or combination of methods to do the job properly. They normally don't care how you do it and are willing to pay your higher rates.

I use to do the same exact thing until my uncle who was a general manager at one of my accounts set me straight. He looked at me when I started to explain the process and said I don't give a S**t how you do it just get it cleaner than the last guy. Since then I realized 99% of the managers really don't give a crap and just want less headaches and clean carpet. I NEVER tell anyone anymore what I use or why. I just sell clean carpet and I get many more referrals now too.
