Dave's Stone Class

April 22 2007 at 11:23 PM

Joe DeSouza

Hey Rick, Dave sure did put on a GREAT stone restoration class!! It was great to meet your bro & his wife, and the other students also - we had a great (albeit messy) time!!

Wondering how soon will you be able to get the diamond pads and drivers for the hand-held grinders?

Thanks!

Joe DeSouza

PS Your marketing package looks GREAT! Can't wait to get it....

Hey Joe,

Glad to hear it was a good class! Dave knows his stuff about stone.

Any diamond pads you need are available within a couple of days.

Joe,
It was a pleasure meeting you as well as many others from this board and the Dirty Grout board.

David and his staff did an EXCELLENT job and were very gracious hosts. Having only a few tile and grout jobs under my belt I was very nervous touching anything with diamonds or powder polishing for that matter.

After David's class I feel 100% more confident. Out of the two day class we had about 11 hours of hands-on. I'd highly recommend this class for anyone seriously looking at going after natural stone work.

Remind me again, which one is older, David or Rick?

Jeff

THANKS guys - it was great having everyone!!!

All right Jeff, that kind of stuff isn’t funny man. LOL You know darn well who’s older.

In all seriousness I enjoyed the class as much as you guys did. Everybody that came was outstanding. They all had such a great attitude and really wanted to learn as much as they could; it made for a very nice experience for our first class. To be frank with you all I was really concerned that everyone was happy with the class and felt that they learned something. Well, let me share with you some of the written comments:

“1) Hands on experience
2) Your employees – great guys and willing to share their experience
3) All questions being answered thoroughly
4) No “Infomercial”, but equipment and supplies that work best from your experience”

“Good hands on experience. Materials organized well”

“The hands on experience with the guys and the information that they gave readily.
All questions were answered.
The trip was well worth the two days of training and thanks for sharing your knowledge.”

“It is a well of information. I enjoyed not only the professional knowledge you bring but also the knowledge of the other students. Thanks for the opportunity.”

“The class was great. General book knowledge is good but hands-on is even better. David did a fantastic job explaining and demonstrating the techniques in easy to understand terms. I highly recommend this class to anyone seriously looking at getting into natural stone restoration. David’s staff was also very helpful and very patient. Great Job!!!”

“Loved the new office
Food was great
Staff extremely helpful
Willingness to answer questions”

All of the above comments were written out anonymously. I asked the students what they liked about the class and what they would like changed or added to it the next time. For items to be added to it next time; most said that they would like a list of a detailed list of every thing, including little stuff, that they could possibly need and where to get it. So that is not only going to be added to the next class but I will be sending it out this week to everyone that was here.

Well . . . there was one more anonymous recommendation that I got – here let me share it with you: “I think you should give John a raise. He is a real nice guy and really good at what he does. Also he should get a company car to take home cuz that old beater of his is just a shame. Think of the free publicity! Also the beer should be free flowing since that makes all stone restoration a lot easer.” Boy, I can’t image who might have written this one?

This person did make a valid point about the beer; I will be taking it into consideration.

Again, sure we in the office put a lot into this class but it was those that attended it that made it so good.

Thanks to everyone!!!

Class was great

April 24 2007, 11:56 AM

Many thanks to David and his wife, and his great staff. The class was great, very informative, excellent hands-on, and every question was answered thoroughly.

David even had me running the swing machine powder polishing. Now if you read my post a couple of years ago about me and my first attempt and almost going through my wall, you would realize that me and swing machines don't mix. But David had me handling it like a pro, well pretty close to a pro!!!!!

It was great to meet everyone that attended. It was cool to finally be able to put faces to the names from all the different bulletin boards.

Jeff, I am still not sure who is older!!!!! But I do know the guy to Davids left in the green shirt is one good lookin fella!!!!!

Thanks again

Jay
