HWE Question

April 30 2007 at 10:30 PM
Brian

Hello Everyone,

Just a question for all of the Truck Mount Gentlemen. On average how much water would you use to clean a 3 bedroom home with moderate soiling?

Thanks, and have a good night.

Brian

Well, obviously it will depend on several factors. The tool you are using, how it is jetted, the psi you are running at and your wanding technique come to mind. However, to give you hard numbers, for me, it takes around 60 to 75 gallons to clean a 3 BR, Hall, Den and LR home around these parts. Most homes of that size have around 1800 sf and have between 750 and 900 sf of carpet in them.

Do you can water around with you, on board, Marty ? If not how would you know how much water you use or is that just an internet guru guess?
And where do you dump the dirty water?

Harley in Florida claims to use up 200 gallons per home but I also wonder how he really knows.

Typically we do 5 jobs per day and use up most of the 100 gals we start out with on each truck. So 20 gals per 3-4 rooms average.

Assuming the 3 bedroom home includes at least a hall, LR/DR, we would use around 50 gallons of water. We carry our own water. So, Marty's estimate is probably right on for him.

There, Marty- I stuck up for you!

Thanks, Kevin. However, if you consider Tony's posting history, I can think of no one who could possibly think I'd need to justify my position to hIM.

But between you and me, how else would the idiot think I would know how much water I'm using? OF COURSE, I have an on-board water tank. Good grief!

PS He only uses 20 gallons per 5 room job? LOL! He might as well just be a padder for all the cleaning he's doing.

"However, if you consider Tony's posting history, I can think of no one who could possibly think I'd need to justify my position to hIM."

HeY ! Can't you read?
I merely asked a reasonable question: Do you carry water around??? Since most southerners don't, not a surprise that you'd be diFFerent.

Only the guilty feel the need to justify themselves.
You could only dream of having a posting history like mine. Must really hurt to be wrong 14,000 times, lol.

"OF COURSE, I have an on-board water tank. Good grief!"
Marty an old oil drum doesn't count !

"PS He only uses 20 gallons per 5 room job? LOL! He might as well just be a padder for all the cleaning he's doing."

Umm, no read it again 5 JOBS a day NOT 5 ROOMS, stoopie.
3-4 rooms some of which we do Pad and we fill up sometimes when we have to.

Notice that Marty refrained from answering this question.

"And where do you dump the dirty water?"

I've been in the south a few times, talked to several cc'ers and most did not carry water.
Before I'd believe anything from you or Marty, I'd need to see a picture of your rigs.

Ray, there's no way Marty would ever offer me tomatoes or that I eat them.

Wow! That sounds a lot like the OLD Marty, the one who used to walk the fine line of getting banned on the ICS board. Brings back memories...

200 gallons on 1 home? How long would it take to put out 200 gallons in one home?

I'm using about 30-35 gallons on a 3 room home.

My average is right around 40 gallons. I need to start filling my tank at the customer's house. Water is getting expensive around here. Our water bills have doubled the past year.
