| What kind of vacuum cleaner do you use for large commercial areas? It seems that a regular width vac. would be very labor intensive and time consuming. |

We use the 18" Hoover Conquests with Anti-Allergen bags, no dusty dirt cups for us. |

Depending on your objective, you have a couple options.
For a quick pick up of the bulk, you can use either a wide area vac or the 28" wide hoover conquest. They are both good for large areas with the hoover having the added advantage of have 2 vac motors which allows to pick up even deep down soil as opposed to surface soil that most wide area vacs are capable of.
An amazing vacuum that is 18" wide and thus able to cover more area in a shorter time is the Lindhaus RX 18". It's hard to beat this vacuum in its ability.
If you are looking to really lift and open up the pile to get that deeply impacted stuff out, the Kleen rite pile lifter is the one to get when you want to get serious.

Without a doubt the electrolux uprights. We like the 15in. prolux. They are very powerful with dual motors and tough. If you allow that cleaning head to get to big it will loose a lot of suction performance. The more condensed the vacuum the better. 15 inches is tops for us.

Rick and Bob. I have a Lindhaus that i purchased from www.excellent-supply.com and that baby is the sweetest thing i've ever tasted. Across-the-board, it is by it is the best, hands down! And just as Bob mentioned for maximum power I prefer the 15" cleaning head. A thoroughly vacuummed carpet with just a few more passes. Its worth it.
But if YOU just have to be swift, then as Rick mentioned, i would go with the double wide conquest. If the need arises i will definately be looking into it. Lets hope that the need arises. HEY THERE RICK T.
Thanks
