Creative Destruction

The Internet is eviscerating (look it up) the newspaper business, underminding both circulation and advertising. Craigslist, which is draining the newspapers life blood, classified advertising, didn't exsist until several years ago. X rays taken in U.S. hospitals and doctors' offices are often read by radiologists in India. Network and cable television, music-oriented FM radio, AM talk radio, even satellite radio and television all see their foundations crumbling under the onslaught of the Internet. My wife and I no longer get the newspaper, we read them all on the Internet. We no longer advertise items for sale in the newspaper, we use Craigslist, more of our jobs are being booked because of the Internet. If you do not have a web site for you business, you need to consider it now. I was at JonDon Friday and met with Bill Yeadon and sat in his class on Internet Marketing (best one I have been to yet) and it was oh so good to reminisce about our Bane Clene days. You can e-mail him at Billy@Jondon.com. Their MyEasyMarketing.com site is going to be awesome. It is not up yet but will be in 4 to 6 weeks. With all thy getting get understanding.

Marketing

May 12 2007, 6:33 PM

Thanks Rambo.

Most anything one reads on marketing, be it in books, newsletters,on the internet, wherever, is good.

Rick also has a great product (shortly) to be Released.

I will be in for both of these, both Rick's and Jon-Dons, even at my ancient age.

AS you say, the internet is great for information.

Cheers,

Shorty.

PS:: Here's the Steve Toburen bit

I posted and looked at our respective posting times.

12 minutes difference, and about 12,000 miles apart. !!!!!

The old carrier pigeon could never compete, much like those that don't use the internet, eh ??

CMS is really cool

May 12 2007, 8:52 PM

I just got Rick's CMS delivered the other day. I have been very busy the past few days and have just gotten to sit down and look at it today.

It really is pretty much a total paperwork and marketing package easily useable by anyone with Microsoft Office and a color laser printer, or willing to pay Kinko's Copy Shop to print some of it- some can be printed with an inkjet- but not all.

The instructions are really easy and to the point.

Most of the stuff you just plug your name and company logo into and print away and then go see your prospects with your new marketing blitz.

Pound for pound I think this is undoubtedly the best Commercial Carpeting Marketing info available.
