May 19 2007 at 6:26 PM
Derek

well it worked for me, so far so good.

- pre-vac.
- pre-scrub DRY with Cimex stiff brushes.
- vac again.
- apply Encap solution while scrubbing with Cimex stiff brushes.
- encap it again this time with ThinOnes.

done.

so simple yet it took me 3 years to figure this out ...

thanx --- Derek.

Thanks Derek:

It's always a battle up in the North here trying to get that stuff out. I'll give that a try. Of Course Rick G. doesn't have a clue what we are talking about. The only thing he knows about ice is that it is great with his Rum & Coke. LOL

Have a great weekend

We just pour Jack Daniels on the ice residue and drink it away.

Are you guys referring to salt? Cause I lost my shaker and can't find it anywhere.

Ice melt.

Isn't that what happens the instant you step outside with a frozen beverage?

This is what ice melt looks like in Florida.

there is an easier solution.

Vacuum scrub in a salt residue rinse flush with a Demon and put fans down if needed.

Some things need to be flushed out Ice melt is one of them

Derek have you tried your formula without the first step ?

Why not scrub dry first off and then vacuum?

Only other thing you might want to try is to add some Iso Propyl alcohol to your encap. Adding it to a pre-spray is pretty much required when solving this problem with a truckmount.

Isoproponol

Will it interfere with the crystalizing process? What exactly does it do to the ice melt?

David, i dunno about easier but i'll take your word for it. this took me 15 minutes to do with no real setup time other than plugging the machine in - versus - setting up the S.D., which may be easy i dunno, but it still must take a little time. with this process it worked perfectly for me, can't imagine anything easier.

Tony, i did the 1st step because even tho it is in the 70's already, there was still large salt crystals everywhere in this indoor-outdoor carpet, so i only pre-vac'ed to prevent damage from grinding large salt crystals into carpet. the janitor doesn't vac too well lol.

thanx, i will have to keep some iso on the van to try!
