iCapsol vs. Whitaker

Well, we've used the iCapsol on 5 different jobs since it was delivered yesterday and here's our preliminary findings.

1. It looks prettier than the Whitaker which is good for a residential setting.

2. It doesn't "float" across the carpet like the Whitaker does. It requires a hair more energy to get it to move compared the the GLS.

3. While using the iCapsol it seemed to slow down, bog down occasionally. We've never experienced that with the Whitaker.

4. The handle release on the iCapsol is a HELLUVA lot more convenient. On/Off buttons = good things.

5. The collection tray is okay, but you still need to empty it every 100 square feet or so, or it starts spitting furballs too.

6. Not having a built on sprayer is a minor inconvenience and to strap on a pump up sprayer makes the machine control a little "wonky".

7. Because of the motor seeming to "bog down" occasionally, we're concerned about it not working at all on a frieze.

That's it for now. I'll update more as I learn it.

I am hearing alot about this iCapsol and GLS machines over the last few week. Still a newbie i guess. I allways wondered are they using compound like myself or what.

So looking into the iCapsol eqipment i see they have their own encap agents.
So i guess the proccess it prevac, spray agent, work the agent in both directions, let dry postvac complete.

Does that sum it up?
i use the crb simualr to the one brush n cleans web site has.

Thanks for the update Bob.
You wrote a nice review there.

Just thought I'd reply to #2 and #3

The iCapsol has more torque and digs in a bit more than the GLS machine so it does require a tiny bit more energy to push it across the carpet (we're talking incremental). I have always found that the GLS machine would bog down when you started it up on a cut pile carpet and even some loop carpets. To start the GLS you typically need to rock the machine sideways to take the weight off the brushes or else the motor will not start up. The iCapsol starts right up without needing to rock the machine sideways. From what I've observed, the iCapsol appears to be a slightly stronger scrubber on the carpet. But both machines are very good.
