White Nylon Berber Help

I have a large Commercial Customer that has a very nice White Nylon Berber Carpet in the Reception Area. When I clean it the lady who hired me says right in frront of the reception desk looks dingy. I can't see it, there are lots of shadows and poor light in that area. I'm wondering if adding Cirtic Acid would help brighten it up?
Also I've seen post about adding Sodium Percarbonate to releasit would this help in this situation?

There is not an issue with the person in charge as she is very nice and figuers
she will have to live with it as it been that way for several cleaners just want to see if I can do a little more.

White Nylon Berber Help

Why do people most of the time expect a carpet to look new after cleaning after they have abused it for years. Who knows what all of the other cleaners put in that rug and you know that they left residue behind which attracts more dirt. When you have dingy wear marks the only thing to do is clean with the best solution you have, maybe flush that spot, pad it real quick and encap it again and put a dryer on it. Of course it is in a main traffic area so there is going to be wear no matter what. Cut down on wear, customers must clean the carpets more often (not like 1 time in 5 yrs) using a Professional cleaner. Lots of people out there think that all cleaners are the same.

I have a customer who has commercial carpet in his home and where their furniture is you can see wear marks from their feet. It cleans up good with encap and I got a referral out of him but the wear marks will always be there.

I feel your pain. Most customers think a cleaning means NEW.

I think I read here or another board where someone said, Hey if I go take a shower I don't come out looking 18 years old again.

You're sure it is nylon? The reason I ask is that so much Berber is olefin. And olefin can really hold soil, and it crushes and looks terrible with heavy traffic too.

At any rate, expecting perfection is probably not reasonable. I loved the example of taking a shower above! I also use the illustration of a shirt. Take a brand new shirt. Get the shirt filthy by rolling it around in the garden and wiping down the car engine. Now try whatever you'd like to get it clean. That would obviously be hopeless wouldn't it? Well carpet is a textile too. There is no difference.

I took a class from Bob Wittkamp several years ago on Berber. We spent a whole day learning about Berber. And I'll sum up what we learned about cleaning in 3 words - dry, dry, dry. You really need to accentuate the drying.

So what would I do? I would hit it hard with a strong mix of Encap-Punch and a FiberPlus Max pad. And then post bonnet it and put a blower on it. It may still not come out perfect. But you'll be giving it your best shot.

Hope it works out for ya.

Sorry for the confusion but this customer is extremely satisfied and does not expect any better results. She has been extremely complimentary of our work and signed up for a maintenance program. It's a really good customer!!!
I just wanted to know if Cirtic Acid or Sodium Percarbonate might help this situation.

Rick G yes I'm sure it's nylon did a burn test.

Citric acid powder is helpful when a brownish color appears as the carpet dries.
