Conquest Anti-Allergen Bag - Sweet Move!

June 18 2007 at 10:59 PM
Derek

glad i listened to Joe Gilstrap and Rambo!

replacing the dust-cup with the Anti-Allergen bag has made the Conquest my fav vac for commercial.

i never used to clean out the cloth bag above the dust-cup...suction power was less than average.

used the new Allergen bag tonite for 1st time and wow, MUCH better suc power....better than ever.

for the 1st time i had to actually push the vac to get it to move forward...it really digs in now. and now dust-blow when i hit a corner with the bag.

most jobs won't need to be egded with a wand now.

just wanted to reiterate this "tip" to you Conquest owners.

if you are like me and have "semi-retired" your dust-cup bearing Conquest, you owe it to yourself to try the Anti-Allergen bagged version.

thanx --- Derek.

Sounds sweet Derek. What exactly do I need to do to change everything over?

I've got my 28 incher that is deligated now to restaurants and a client that I clean for every 3 months that has 7 dogs. It's super stinky.

What took you soooo long Derek? I hated the dust cup, they all leak. We all like the paper bags and the extra filtration. I switched over a year ago and it is now my favorite vac. Proof that the Conguest Vac is getting the job done is how fast that large bag fills up, it is also one of the tightest fitting bags of any vac. Our vac stays cleaner on the outside because there is no leakage like other vacs. You are right about the airflow, we rarely need any edgeing because the good suction thru the side slots on the bottom plate does a great job. We use the Conquest 18" on all residential jobs too. I have found it is much faster, taking a 18" swipe at a time. Also it fits in even the smallest closet with a few trick moves that you learn because you don't want to go to the truck and get that other vac. Derek, I have been watching you for some time now and I am impressed how each year you continue to get smarter and smarter. Keep it up.

Dan,

we have a "Hoover Store" in my city. i ordered it there and they had it shipped to my door. someone posted here months ago that they ordered it from JonDon.

you have to take the long metal handle off the Conquest and remove the dustcup assembly by taking off the 2 screws at the base of the rear of the machine. then attach the base of the new bag assembly to the same area at rear base and reattach handle. took me 5 minutes.

Ray,

thanx! i've always been a slow learner, better late than never lol.

no resi jobs today or for quite awhile scheduled (no resi jobs scheduled actually), so will have to wait awhile to see how she does on them.

thanx fellas --- Derek.

Derek, has your opinion of the Dyson changed? You used to talk very positively of them. Just wondering, since I own one now

no i still like my Dyson alot.

i bought a new one 2 months ago...the new dc14. seems to pick up alot more than my dc07 did when it was new, but it has some features i don't like either. the impacted soil / silt it sucks up is amazing! BUT it clogs the holes in the dust-cup everytime! so badly that i have to take the clear plastic "jacket" off and scrape the soil, now impacted into the holes, clear with my hands and fingers...FILTHY job and not very practical if you can picture it...

in hind sight i wish i picked up another yellow dc07 instead. i'm used to it's features. these are great for post-vac'ing OP for my resi jobs. and of course a wand is a must for pre-vac'ing stairs!

but my "new" Conquest is my new fav for commercial.

thanx --- Derek.

I have the new DC17. Does a good job vac'ing. I needed a vac I could post vac resi with damp without getting clogged all the time. I'm seeing the same thing with all the holes getting clogged every couple of days.

My biggest complaint thus far is that it doesn't hold much before you have to empty it out. 2 and 3 times at the same job sometimes isn't a lot of fun.

Derek

i agree Grant

and i stand corrected, i have the dc17, not the 14 i had stated.

yea doesn't it stink having to scrub those holes clear??

on 2 different jobs now we have left those holes filled up and continued to vacuum....learn from my mistake, don't do that. the dc17 has an automatic shutoff when the motor over-heats and it shuts itself off.

i guess excellent suc power comes with a price.

also, i learned today that on smaller commercial jobs my 17" Conquest is too large, and that's where a narrower vac fits in.

thanx --- Derek.
