Sunday afternoon Sprint

June 24 2007 at 7:10 PM

Rick Gelinas

I spent about 45 minutes this afternoon cleaning the carpet and the ceramic tile in our condo with the SPRINT machine. We've got about 2200 sq ft of white carpet and ceramic tile. The carpet actually looked clean to start with, and I want to keep it that way. That's why I run the Sprint on it every so often to keep it in perfect condition. I love that machine because it's soooo easy to clean carpets with, and it works well on hard surfacers too. After I ran over the carpets, I cleaned the ceramic tile. Everything is clean, clean, clean! And Nancy thinks I'm Mr Wonderful for making the house look great. Well she may be right about the wonderful, but the credit has to go to the Sprint for making it so stinkin easy!

Fixed my Sprint Rick

Yup clogged nozzle as you (and I) had guessed.

The brushes not rolling was another matter.  I could hear the motor attempting to go, but not turning the brushes.  I tried to manually turn the brushes and the drum- NO WAY.

I removed the back brush and when I tried to remove the front brush it would not come out.  The left side popped loose, but the right side had somehow become jammed into place and was locking everything up.

Well Mr. Sprint, meet Mr. Rubber Mallet.  Wala- a few whacks the brush popped out.  I checked everything else it looked fine- just a kinda weird one in a million deal.

Popped the brushes back in and cleaned my carpet- worked fine.

Dell,

You want to be careful when you put the dirty water tank onto the machine. If the blade is not coming in proper contact with the drum it can cause noise, rough running or jamming. Check your blade to make sure it is not bent in a way that would cause it to dig into the drum. I had a jamming/noise problem and discovered it was being caused by the blade on one side. I was able to fix it with pliers and am now more careful when I attach the dirty water tank. I thought I would mention this to you, since it took me a while to discover the cause of my problem.

I have to agree...the Sprint does a great job on carpet and is fun to operate! Has Truvox made any improvements on the transport dolly Rick? I would love to be able to wheel the thing around rather than carry it.

Thanks Bob

I'll double check that, and more importantly be careful in the future with it.

Bob,

The transport dolly has not changed. Any simple dolly/hand-truck that you could buy at a supply store like Home Depot could easily be adapted to cart the machine around (would probably work as well or better than the one from Truvox - and for less money too).

This hand truck works well on stairs

June 25 2007, 11:51 PM

I use this Bigfoot Hand Truck from Harbor Freight Tools for my Sprint.  The 13 inch tires work well on stairs.

They go on sale for $35 about every other month.

Make you own luck,
