hi, new to this forum, hows everyone. I'm about to order my first cimex and pretty excited about it. my question is, should i get brushes or pads. I do mostly carpet cleaning but would love to use this as a grout and tile machine. should i get both? Which ones? the pads seem like alot more expensive and you have to change them, the brushes seem wat more economical and save time. Love to hear back from you guys who have been using this machine, thanks bill y

brushes with weights are awesome for tile and grout. Pads all the way for carpet, way faster and more effective.

Hey Rick-
Where can you get weights for the Cimex?

Bill,

The FiberPlus pads are the way to go for carpet cleaning. They work a lot better than brushes for scrubbing commercial carpet. And you can use the firm brushes #4805 for tile and grout.

Jeff,

The weights are shown here in our Cimex marble package.

http://www.excellent-supply.com/store/pc/viewPrd.asp?idcategory=7&idproduct=50

The weight set attaches to each side of the fork of the Cimex, adding 40 pounds of total weight for doing hard surface work. The weight kit ain't cheap though... it sells for $380 with free shipping. I'm sorry it's a crazy price - but that's the best deal I can get on these from Cimex. You could build something similar by attaching a shelf made from 2"x6" lumber. Attach to the wood to each fork and then go up over the top of the motor and then add a weight to the top. It's not as pretty, but it will work.

Pads all the way for carpet cleaning. Cost is not even a problem with this system. Chemicals and pads should run you less than 1% of the price of the job. Rick can break down all the numbers for you, but it really is alot less expensive than my Butler per job.

If you clean area rugs then you will love the Cimex/Releasit system. We use it all the time on rugs. See for yourself at www.pearsoncarpetcare.com
