Nasty dirty rug cleaning video with my Cimex

July 10 2007 at 6:51 PM

Kevin Pearson

We clean rugs for this lady a lot and they are always this filthy. The lady takes in stray cats. What you don't get from the video is the smell and the fleas biting you. We are bombing the shop tonight and the rug while soak all night in the pit.

Also, that is not color coming out of the rug. This is a synthetic rug full of pee, puke, etc.

The Cimex is awesome for this type of work, because it is a great scrubber.

Kevin,

Awesome video!!! Its amazing what people allow their animals to do to their belongings. But, I guess we need these people to keep on wrtiting us checks.LOL I need to order some brushes and give my big yella a whirl in the pit. I just use good ole' arm scrubbin.

Good lookin pit, what are you using for the walls? I currently use 4" pvc pipe.

Where's the dirt go?

July 10 2007, 7:55 PM

Kevin..I'm just curious where the dirt that's in the water goes if you leave the carpet soaking in it, wouldn't it re-contaminate the carpet?

I don't do area rugs so I'm not familiar with a wash pit.

Kevin, did you use the rug badger on this rug prior to putting the rug into the wash pit?

It looked like maybe one of the cats was hung up in the Cimex LOL, Great Job. Are you using pads or brushes?

Answers to questions above and another video.

Thanks guys. I am using pads for this one. I have some brushes but just don't use them alot.

We left it soaking in the pit only after working with it for about 2 hours. The water was clean when we left for the day. So tomorrow I will see if anything else comes out of it before drying.

My pit is built up on a slanted platform. One corner of the pit is 2 inches higher than the opposite corner so all the water flows to one end where the pump is. The water is brought in through some pvc on one side. The pvc has holes drilled every foot so the rugs get soaked evenly.

The pit is built out of 12 inch pvc. Very heavy. Then about once a month we have to take the mats out of the pit and clean the whole thing. Even with the rug badger it gets dirty after a while. However, this rug was so stinky and flea infested we just put it straight into the pit to get the stink out of the shop. The lady brought it in around 2:30 and it was in the pit as soon as she left.

We are in the process of building a rug drying rack. This should help increase our production a lot.

If ya'll liked that video here is another one that we took of our Rug Badger doing its job.

Nicely done Kevin. You've got a nice looking rug pit there.
Thanks for letting us have a peak at your operation.

Was the rug bleeding at all? It looks like there was a fair amount of red in the water.
How was it when it was finished? Any odor remaining?

I really appreciate you sharing that with us.
That was very cool! You da man.

Thanks bud!

Rick no odor left in the rug. A little staining on the back is present. The color you saw was part of the urine, vomit, feces, fleas, and a dog that was in heat. It really looks good now and smells great.
