Hey Thanks,

i don't know and i don't know if he does. It shiny black.

I have to go look at it, if he wiped it with water, i'm not sure if its fixable.

I can only think it's over prespray (punch) from my pumpup!!

If the sofa is black and he is seeing white spots result of your cleaning overspray, you should be able to wipe it off with a damp rag. He's probably just seeing some of the polymerized residue on the black surface. Encap-Spot is not harsh so it shouldn't have damaged the leather. If he's having a fit, go back and wipe it for him. You might bring along some black shoe polish that you could apply to the spots in the event the chemicals left a spot in the leather – but I doubt that you’ll need to use that.

Black eyes or white spots ??

July 16 2007, 5:21 PM

If it's a shiny leather, it is probably a pigmented.

Get some reputable leather cleaner and protection cream, also purchase some black leather pigment.

Clean the area where the white spots are.

Mix some of the black pigment with some of the protection cream and apply.

Assist drying with a warm hair dryer.

Buff softly with some towelling.

The above can be done if the cleaning alone does not remove the white spots.

Cheers,

Shorty,

I don't know how you "spray" but I'd have thought that the most likely places to get any overspray would be those parts of the furniture that are near the floor - not the arms.

I agree with the above comments and if it is Protected Leather it is likely to be crystalized encap which should wipe off with a little agitation with a wet white scotchbrite type pad and towel off.

Shorty knows.......
