OP...period

Hey guys/gals, I have a question; Using any of the current OP methods, is there any real advantage to non-encap product? I see on the various websites selling these systems such as, say the challenger website, they use a non-encap product and get really goos results on the video.

Of course, I guess they are also vacuuming a damp carpet at the end. but therein lie my query, if I use a non encap product, and vacuum, will I get good results on these really dirty carpets? Ones with deep deposists of soil like liquid stains or deep deep deep dirt?

PadMan on another forum claims "yes".
Thoughts?

If you are looking for deep liquid removal then encap juice MAY be used, but the pad/encap/bonnet method will not be effective NO MATTER what anyone else tells you.

I LOVE to encap- I really, really, really do.  And it delivers great results for light, moderate, and even some heavily moderate soil loads (if you work a little longer).  And it works better on CGD then cut pile- although I have had some very good results on cut pile too.

But if there is a decent sized spill of ANY kind of liquid it will get to the carpet's primary, and secondary backings- if not the pad, and ANY style of encapping has ceased to be the answer fro removal.

At that time it needs to be flushed out with a larger amount of water AND recovery.  Most commonly this is with a high quality spotting machine, a portable, or a truckmount all with a water claw.  You can use encap juice, pre-spray, enzymes- whatever is appropriate for the spill is.

Anyone that tells you that they can remove: urine, a soda spill, or any other liquid over several ounces in size with a bonnet, or any other form of ONLY encap is feeding you some serious HOOOOOEY.  You can follow up with bonnets for addtional sticky soil removal and drying- but that is follow up.

As far as dry soil- that it was a vacuum cleaner and pre-vacing is for.

Encap/bonnet is a tool, it is a GREAT tool.  Just don't allow yourself to give it a bad name by believing (and thus using) it where it is not meant to be used.

If you hired a plumber and he came to your house with one crescent (adjustable) wrench as his ONLY tool what would you do?  I'd kick him to the curb.

Del, I truly appreciate your reply. I suppose that settles it then. It is almost word for word what Rick said. and, since Ihave a nice porty, I'll attack this situation from that angle.

regarding just normal encapping, no deep pad extraction, has anyone encpped with Op / fiberplus pads /releasit ? Any danger there?

Thanks

As Usual.......

Some more great advice from Del. I rarely use my Ninja since I got the Steamin Demon. It is light weight and powerful, and flushes the carpet better than any of the seven truckmounts I have owned. Heavy spills and pet accidents require flushing and nothing does it better than Steamin Demon IMHO (sometimes with the Water Claw) and did I mention auto fill, auto dumping.

I agree. Del makes very good sense. I have been getting great results with releasit and encapping but I also have two portys when I need them.

exactly with encaps you get the best of both worlds low moisture bonnet absorbtion aggitation and what ever is left over will be encapped all the while the carpets wil/should stay cleaner longer than detergents with the same methods works for us everyday......
