Cleaning Steps

Have a commercial account where you walk up 20 carpeted steps before you get to a common area. Around this area is where you find 6 offices. Question is "what machine do you use to clean those 20 steps???" Would the drill driver work with the 8" fiber plus pads?

Oh man, will it!!! A drill driver and 8" fp pad is what will do it. I clean some stairs last week and they turned out just like the carpet i cleaned the day before in the same resident. Excellent!!!

I would use a strong mixure of the DS since you don't need to apply a whole lot of sol to get the job done. Depending on the soil load. The stairs i did was moderate-heavy soil load. Too much sol is no good.

Thanks

To make short work of steps I use a cylindrical brush machine with out my handle attached.

Here is the Craftsmen drill that I use.  It will often go on sale for $99.  Also it IS NOT the hammer drill (they look very similar).

It comes with two batteries.  On a large job if you set up the charger with one battery and use one I have yet to run out of charge.  If all else fails with the C3 system you can buy seperate batteries and chargers.

As far as durability mine has seen some fairly heavy use on all stairs, vehicle carpeting and almost all upholstery I clean.  As well as drilling holes like a regular old drill too.

Another option is an oscilating stair tool that Challenger Pad Systems makes. It is larger than the drill driver and I use it for commercial jobs were there are lots of stairs. It may be overkill for residental ---Ask Rick G he sells the Challenger I am sure he could get you a good price on one

We use an Oreck Orbiter for steps. Works great
