What is Herculon comprised of ???

I see a rug in a dollar store today that had the name Herculon on it.

Living in the sticks, I'm not familiar with it nor the cleaning process.

Any advise would be appreciated.

Cheers,

Shorty.

I've seen the light, and changed my ways.

Hi Shorty,

Herculon is olefin/polypropelene.

It used to be popular in the US in the 80's

Herculon loves to attract oil.

Clean it with a good degreaser/pre-spray.

It usually cleans up well

Gasoline and a match is another option.

Hey Rick,
I tried the gasoline and match. It got rid of the grease but now the customers are complaining about an odor that they say was not there before.
Guess you just can't please some people.

I really liked cleaning Herculon covered furniture. I have not had one to clean now in over a year. Mostly older customers with 25 year old sofas and chairs. It always cleaned well, and looked good after a cleaning IMHO.
