Drill driver/pad

Rick, or anyone. I have a polisher I used for removing scratches form glass. It is a heavy duty puppy. I have 5" & 3" hook/loop driver and am curious if I use white pads, can this be used in conjunction with Punch/DS for couches and chairs and the like.

I read the product description for both, the pad driver and the rota brush....both speak of commercial upholstery but I am referring residential. I am used to this machine already and like how heavy it is. I'd like to simply buy spme white pads, turn the RPM down to low (if it will go low enough) and try it. But I want to know if it will work.

I run a Roto-Brush with a Craftsmen 19.2 cordless drill on SOME residential upholstery.  You need to inspect very carefully first.  And I HIGHLY reccomend upholstery training before you clean upholstery.  Carpet is very durable and if a cleaner were to make a mistake and use an incorrect chemical or procedure your chances of permanantly messing up the carpet are much less then upholstery.

At BARE MINIMUM buy an upholstery cleaning manual and read it if you have not done so.

Some upholstery has no business near a power tool for pre-scrub and needs to be handled gingerly to avoid permanent damage.

With that said get the training (if you have not) and- GO FOR IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!

YOu can cover a sofa very effiently with the 8 inch spotting mitt you can get from interlink supply. I'm surpised RIck doesn't sell them. I would much rather use that than trying to manipulate a tool around someone's upholstery.

Phil,

There's no reason to think it wouldn't work (on reasonably durable fabric), providing that you turn down the rpm. Give it a test and see. I'm sure you'll be fine.

It worked very well. I am converted. I used DS @ 6 OZ per gallon.
