As I see it --------- Sprint & Icapsol

Shorty

Now I know I am going to be shot down in flames here, but that's okay.

I will learn something.

If I am correct, the Sprint is manufactured by Truvox, or used to be.

It has two horizontal, counter rotating brushes, a solution tank and comes with a trash tray.

The Icapsol/Karcher/Windsor is a very similar machine with similar features.

If I was to purchase either one for doing residential work, which would be the most appropriate?

Does either one have any extra benefit over the other?

Looking forward to some interesting dialogue here.

Cheers,

Shorty.

PS ::: Here it is, Sunday 09:40 & I gotta go Cimex a defense house

Difference????

September 8 2007, 9:01 PM

Shorty, I have had both, and decided on the i-Capsol over the Sprint for residential. The I-capsol has the weight advantage and does a better job of deep cleaning IMHO. The Sprint can scrub the floor and recover most of it, the I-capsol can not, the i-capsol has wider brushes and can clean more square feet per hour (of carpet) the i-capsol looks more masculine than the more femine looking Sprint, LOL. Going to work on Sunday morning and I am just thinking of going to bed this Saturday evening 9:01 PM

Shorty-

I recall that the iCapsol has a collection tray for lint/etc, which may suit it better for resi. work.

They're both excellent machines.

I really like the Sprint for residential.

Ray, please explain:

"I have had both, and decided on the i-Capsol over the Sprint for residential. The I-capsol has the weight advantage and does a better job of deep cleaning IMHO. The Sprint can scrub the floor and recover most of it, the I-capsol can not,"

Are you saying the I-capsol cannot recover the crud?

Let me re-phrase my question for those that have had both machines.

If you were to purchase either one for residential to give the best possible result on a dirty carpet, which would it be.

Phew !!!

Thanks,

Shorty.

PS ::: I used to live in Manly (NSW), hence my Manly appearance lol, but I donna wannabe lookin' like no sissy draggin' a purty tool around

Sorry about that Del. Shorty, my choice for residential is the i-Capsol. The tray in the middle of the brushes does not hold much at all requiring post vacuuming most of the time im resi. The black brushes (all that is available at this time) are quite adequate for resi and commercial. The Sprint does give you some brush choices and the recovery tray is better suited to the machine. the i-Capsol is several hundred dollars less than Sprint. I don't have any buttless chaps, so I'm going with i-Capsol, LOL

Rambo, have you used the icapsol much for commercial? How do you like it there? Do you use the same recipe, ie. prespray with punch then go over with ds?

Grant, I mainly use the Cimex for commercial. You would only need to pre-spray w/Punch if it was nasty. The i-Capsol does work well on CGD and we use it along with the Cimex on larger jobs. We used to have a Butler truckmount w/dual wand capabilities and We much prefer today w/dual and triple encap machines. On some jobs we may have a Cimex, a i-Capsol, SteminDemon and a 175/300 bonnet all running at the same time. Could you imangine haveing two truckmounts and all the hoses on one job to accomplish what we do w/4 encap machines. I just give one example why we don't do that any more, and I could give a dozen more, COST! "You weren't put on earth to be remembered. You were put here to prepare for eternity"
