Jeff, here is an overview of the brushes and the pads.

There is currently just one version of the 4807 brushes. They are a soft shampoo brush for more delicate fiber. These are typically used by the guys who use Cimex machines for wool rug cleaning, such as oriental rugs. The 4807's are the way to go if you work on softer carpets and rugs.

For regular commercial work, the FiberPlus pads are PERFEECT. The standard cream colored FiberPlus pads make better surface contact than brushes, and they disperse the detergent more evenly so you'll use less detergent. The pads blow away the brushes when it comes to scrubbing a commercial carpet.

For aggressive commercial cleaning, the FiberPlus Max pads are excellent! The gray colored FiberPlus Max pads don't last as long as the standard FiberPlus pads, but they will clean approx 20% more efficiently so you can clean a trashed carpet faster. You should use extreme caution when using these pads on cut pile commercial carpet (or avoid using them), since they're more aggressive. These pads may also be used for hard surface floor cleaning.

In addition to the 4807 brushes and the FiberPlus Pads, there are also striping pads for hard surface floor stripping, called Lightning Striping Pads. There are also brushes for servicing every imaginable floor surface. And there are drivers for diamond abrasives for grinding marble, terrazzo, concrete and stone floors. Here's a listing of some of the most common brush types for the Cimex... http://www.excellent-supply.com/store/pc/viewcategories.asp?idCategory=6&pageStyle=H
