Rick,

I had two seperate issues last night. first, The steel rod that adjust the height of the cimex snapped. I assume I can just bring this to a welder? second, the head of my machine is rubbing against the yellow body.. when the head starts spinning it's grinding against the body?? any suggestions?

Simple fixes

September 15 2007, 11:03 AM

These are easy things to fix.

The steel adjusting rod can not be welded. You'll need to replace it. I don't have the prices in front of me (I'm sitting in a hotel room in Las Vegas about to head to the airport following Connections right now). But as I recall the rod is not to expensive.

The scraping you're experiencing is due to the yellow shroud getting bent. The blue fork of the machine rests against the back of the yellow shroud. The yellow shroud comes against the left and right ends of the blue fork arms when the head is in the upright position. Over time with constant banging of the head against the shroud, the right and left sides of the shroud can get bent downward. At that point the edges of the shroud will start to scrape on top of the revolving blue deck. This is very simple to fix. Simply step on the front nose portion of the yellow shroud and gently press downward with your foot. Presto! That's all there is to it. The nose of the shroud will realign itself as it pull the left and right sides of the shroud back to their original pre-bent position.

If you want to cal the office on Monday we can get you a new adjusting rod shipped out. And if you need any further clarification on the whole foot pressure shroud squeezing thing, I'll be happy to answer any questions for you. Enjoy your weekend!
