I have an opportunity to purchase an Oreck Low Boy cheap, good condition has anyone encapped with these, also will regular cotton pads work on Oreck driver or do I need to do something else, Rick I would love to purchase one of yours and I still am considering it. I had a Lowboy. It is a pretty good machine but the pad driver would absolutely eat up cotton pads. The Lowboy was designed for hard floors, not carpet. I used mine for quite a while before selling it. I would put a black stripping under the pad driver do spin the cotton pad with. This works but is somewhat of a pain. One thing you can do with the Lowboy is encap with the fiber pads. The pad driver works good with those kind of pads.
You can also use the thin Tuway pads without a problem.

I LOVE my low boys (Have 2) I also have a conqueror, but actually like the low boys better...Theyre heavier, and the weight is on the plate & motor, instead of the handle like on the conqueror...Low center of gravity, and it really digs in to the carpet with cotton pads -
