Some heat is better than no heat!!

Grant,

Look at post below : RELEASE-IT DS SUITABILITY. Rick gelinas' comment.

With that said i think luke warm or any heat at all is better than non at all!

What i do is take two five gallon buckets filled with water to the jobsite. Upon arrival the first thing i do is take the buckets in and plug bucket heater up.

While setting up, vacuuming all areas to be cleaned, water is heating to a boil. This is nice because all vacuuming is done, the water is boiling , now its time to MEXMERIZE the carpet or give it the VENTOO PUNCH!!

I take a my 32oz. size measuring cup with handle , dip it 4 times filling my pump-up sprayer to 1 gallon or 8 dips for two gallons for my old VENTOO PUNCH COMBINATION.

I then spray the area holding spray nozzle 6 to 8 inches from the carpet giving it less time to dissapate. I hand checked to see if there was heat, and yes there was heat. Maybe not 150 degrees such as before it hit the carpet but, its more then likely 18 degrees or more. Hence, doubling the molecular level of activity in solution. I did my first CGD using my old VENTOO PUNCH, and the hot water procedure. I'll post photos shortly. Sorry Rick G this was with referrence to post right under I posted in the wrong place

Thanks

One thing Rick said for every 18 degrees you heat the solution you double the efficiency of the cleaner. What her didn't say is that is the case when starting with a temperature of 118 degrees. 18 degrees is below freezing.

Temperature's affect on molecular activity

Mark, mark, mark - always a stickler for the details. LOL

You are 100% correct Mark.
In fact you are right on the mark.

Freezing water turns to ice.
Boiling water creates a bubbling disturbance in the water.
And water heated to the point of steam turns into a vapor.

This illustrates the point of how the molecular activity of the water molecules reacts differently at different temperatures. At lower temperatures the molecules in the water slow down, to the point that the molecules will move so slowly that the water can become a solid chunk of ice. And at higher temperatures the molecules move at a very accelerated rate of speed. The affect that temperature has on molecular activity can be observed in the different states of the water at different temperatures (i.e. ice, simmering, boiling, steam, vapor).

To illustrate how cleaning is affected by temperature, go work on the engine of your car and get your hands all greasy. Then wash your hands with soap and cold water. You will have to work very hard to get your hands clean. Now try it again with soap and warm or hot water. The cleaning results will obviously be much better with warmer water.

The increase of molecular activity as water temperature increases underscores the benefit of cleaning with warmer/hotter water whenever it's possible to do so. We will see a benefit to the cleaning process because the molecular activity is greater at higher temperatures.
