velcro

Alex

I was cleaning a carpet commercial cut pile last night and low and behold! My fiber-plus max pad flew out from under the Memerizer. The unusual thing is that it had the velcro still stuck to it. the driver remained on the Mex.

I imediately felt helpless. I had just finished scrubbing in Punch to follow with flush with Tsunami,op with cotton pad,and then scrub-in soil-eze with the mex. My mind went to work imediately, telling me its only 300 s.f. left, use the op machine to scrub in soil-eze.

Vento was here to save the ddaaaaaaayyyyyyyy!!!!

On the other drivers around the edges are unglued as well and will probably be next to fly off. Should i pull off the velcro and re-glue center to outside edges or just glue edges while still on the driver?

Thanks

Reglue with 3M Super Seatherstrip Adhesive found at your local auto parts store. It has happened to me twice. They just don't make the drivers the way they used to.

I did not have the velcro come off, but the rubber compound(?) that the velcro attaches to, came away from the plastic drive board that attaches to the Cimex.

When gluing any of these parts together, make sure they are aligned and stable, and will not slide while the glue is setting/going off.

A slight mis-alignment of the pad can put your machine slightly out of balance, which will make it Mex; buck when working.

Guess you could call it a "Bucking Mex;"

Cheers,

Shorty.

PS ::: I also ordered a new set of drive boards to keep at home, (carry one in the van), just in case this happens on another job.

I've seen the light, and changed my wicked ways.

Yes Shorty,

The rubber came off with it. At least part of it anyway. Some stayed on the driver. Being the perfectionist (not a good thing)that i am, i'll probably go ahead and get new ones, and put the old ones in the truck for backup. OOPS! I meant to say in the escort hatchback for backup. Maybe in next 2 years a van will be my Tax right off.

Mark, the drivers were not at faught in my case. I banged them around on peoples furniture trying to rush and keep up with the productivity that i hear about on the board. lol
Besides that it was the only cleaning machine i had. Thanks for the tip i will glue that puppy on.....And keep away from the furniture.

Thanks
