Question for you 2, I just stepped up and purchased a Makita 9227C appears to be a quality tool. I'm using the 8" pads for upholstery is there a particular speed you recommend using for upholstery? I'm using #1 600RPM. Tried the pads and Ricks drill attachment last Sunday on my couch and it sold me on the concept came out great. Also Has anayone ever figured the best way to attach Ricks drill attachment backing to the Makita for stairs to attach the fiber plus pad. Thanks.

Jeff, you just bought the "Cadillac" of polishers. I only use 100% cotton pads that have elastic that hold them on, from Plus Mfg. on mine. But velco glued on should worked just fine, but I am sure Shorty "the round mound of sound" will have a suggestion as I believe he uses the fiber pads on his. As far as the speed, I never go over #1 or 600 rpm speed, I have tried higher speeds but it does not work as well and increases the risk should one pop off.

Little Mak

My Little Mak; came complete with the velcro drive board.

Both the pads and the bonnets stick to this no problem, and are both easy to remove.

I also use at the lowest speed, #1, otherwise the pads can fly off at higher speeds.

I believe there is a tool available to remove the drive board and stem, although I have not seen this done as yet.

I have absolutely no idea if the brush can be secured in the same way.

Here are some pics of how I store mine + all I need when I go on an upholstery job, (plus towels).

So simple even Delia can do it for me

Obviously the FP Pad is one of the three, what are the other two?

Hi Del,

We get them made up here in Australia for our clients like Shorty.

They are both 8" bonnets, that are constructed from circular raw nylon fibers. The second one just has the blue grass fiber added to it for extra agitation. Hope this helps.

Jim
