WINDSOR ICAPSOL OR SPRINT SCRUBBER?

October 8 2007 at 9:12 PM

For those of you that have experience with either of these machines which one should we consider buying. It will be mostly for our high turn-over residential contract (5%) of our business and less so for our commercial end (95%). We use exclusively a few cx20's and cimex for the commercial work.

We are interested in the edging component for the Sprint and its larger tank size; but previous posts state that the Icapsol digs deeper and thus more effective at stain removal?

Feedback would greatly be appreciated.

Both are great machines. The iCapsol is a little bit heftier, and sounds more along the lines of your business description to me. You should call me and we can talk. I'll be happy to explore all the variables. I'll be out of the office in the morning, but I'll be in tomorrow afternoon.

I am currenty testing the windsor and have been pleased with the results I have recieved. I am looking for the best way to introduce the low misture process to my residential customers as a cheaper option between overall hot water extraction cleanings. The machine does a fine job but when comparing room to room against a truckmount the tm wins. I also am using the cimex for my commercial clients and it has been a big money maker. I have not tried the sprint scrubber.

I appreciate the responses and will be getting in touch with you next week Rick 'to talk shop'. If anyone else has something more to add that would be great.

I purchased the Windsor Icapsol from Rick. I was worried about how rugged it was going to be, the pictures in adds make it look like cheap plastic. It is not a cheap machine by any means. I have tried to encap with it in one of commercial accounts, it didn't seem to that great encaping. But the reason I purchased the Windsor was for pre-scrubbing. Pre-scrubbing with the Windsor has made work so much easier, maybe thats because I make my wife do the pre-scrubbing . It's a great machine. Just wish I could get it to encap alittle better, im sure that im not doing it correctly.

I demo'd a Prochem Icapsol, which is the Windsor under a different brand up here in Canada. It does not encap well on commercial carpet in my opinion. It's a toy compared to a Cimex, or even a rotary with a fiberplus pad.

It does however encap well on a residential cut pile carpet, although even then you'll want to follow up with a rotary or OP on the traffic areas. On a residential berber it falls short again and you'll need to use a rotary with a fiberplus pad and post bonnet (or Cimex, although who wants to carry the thing into a house!?).

I don't get a lot of commercial work, but thus far I have to agree with what Aris says about the iCapsol machine. Seems to work well as a pre-scrub on the dirtier carpets and works well on cut pile, but doesn't do so great on berber or commercial carpet.

I guess I this point I can only hope they make stiffer brushes for it so that it will be much more useful for commercial use.

Anybody else having a different/better experience with it?
