Deodorizing O.P. & Cimex

October 11 2007 at 3:17 PM

Anyone using deodorizers with OP or Cimex? Do you see any problem adding it to soultion punch or Releasit DS ? Or should it just be sprayed on when dry and raked in? I like to leave the carpet or house smelling clean as well as looking clean.

Try adding a few drops of Tea Tree Extract to the solution. Less than $10.00 @ Walmart.

Deodorizer

If I recall correctly in the past Rick G has recommend against putting a deodorizer in the tank or spraying on after as you don't know what it will
do to the "Enacapsulation" process. However the Tea tree as mentioned is one method or
he mentioned going to a health food store and getting I believe a natural lemon extract if you need to leave a smell other than tea tree.

When adding Tea Tree Oil, don't be heavy handed.

Just a couple of drops.

Otherwise it can be overpowering in a closed up building.

Not everyone may like it.

Cheers,

Shorty.

Does it de-odor or just add odor...for a while?

The current use (encap by Rick) does NOT deodorise.

Peppermint oil is what Rick suggested in another post several months ago. In my experience, so far, it adds the fragrance as your cleaning but no lingering odor after it dries. The buildings I have done you can notice a difference. I think the Tea Tree oil must have deodorizing properties. It's also a anti-septic.
Shorty should know more it comes from Down Under.

I have clients that hate the tea-tree smell, and i`m not really a fan of it either so we put a bit of odourcide in and the problem is fixed!

I agree with the above. Just remember that tea tree extract is one of the ingredients already in Releasit. Just a few drops.
