| How do you guys have your cimex set up for floor cleaning?
I tried the grout brushes with negative results.
Enquired about the yellow brushes and was confronted with confusion.
Thanks

I just purchased the same brushes for a commercial tile & grout job and although they worked OK, I was not overly impressed either. It did help a little with some extra weight on the Cimex. The other thing that helped was to go back and forth in short strokes...this seemed to dig the front and back of the cimex in a little. Overall I'm starting to think that HWE with high pressure is the way to go. |

On a good sized job I’ll run the Cimex, it’s worked well for me but I always put weight on the machine and I like the commercial carpet brushes over the yellow ones. For me the yellow were just to stiff and wouldn’t get down into the grout lines well enough where as the carpet brushes have a little more flex to them. Of course the yellow ones worked very well for us as pad drivers.
For smaller jobs we just scrub things by hand but on nearly all jobs we pick up with our high pressure porty.

How much pressure on that porty?
What tool on the porty? Turbo or just a squeegee?
thanks

I’ll run most of the time 800-1,200 PSI w/ a squeegee. If it’s a more delicate floor I’ll back the PSI down to about 200-300, but at that you’re doing little more than just rinsing the floor. Keep in mind, 200 PSI over 4 jets is not a whole lot of water or pressure.

Yes after you've scrubbed the floor w/ the Cimex.

I also use the stiff carpet brush...I went to wally mart, picked up a couple of 25 lb dumbells - They are rubber coated and shaped like a hex...Then I stand them up on end on the hinge that holds the head onto the frame. I then ran a strap around them and the head of the cimex and tightened it up...presto! The brushes REALLY dig in then! In fact to rinse it, I use 160 psi, the cimex agitation did most of the work... go nice and slow over the grout lines.
