Anyone know what kind of system this is? I was wondering if it is a machine like a windsor iCapsol with some kind of proprietary encapsulant...

Resistech is a brand that was created by DuPont. It was created so that DuPont could penetrate into the commercial carpet cleaning market. Resistech is the brand name of the ENCAPSULATION cleaning system that DuPont created. DuPont's commercial cleaning division was later sold off to Koch Industries and the cleaning division was renamed. However the Resistech trade name is still the trade name for the encap detergent, and it is still being used.

Over the years, I've seen Larry Cobb use the Resistech name whenever anybody questioned the usefullness of a film-former, and whether or not it was correct to call it an "encapsulator." He always left me with the impression that he had developed the Dupont product, or modeled his film-former after the Resistech product.

I was skeptical of the usefulness of a film-former for quite some time, but I am now a fan. It's too expensive for me to use on an every day basis, but I have found a huge benefit from using them in my residential and commercial maintenance accounts.
