| Long time reader first time poster.
Just purchased a new cimex from Rick, what a great machine. I’ve been doing some encap cleaning with a host machine and getting descent results, customers have been impressed, but I’ve been killing my self to get the results. Then I found this forum and changed up equipment and product. I also found a Icapsol mini, and purchased a couple bucket heaters, after reading your posts.
After using it some I do have a few questions, some good and some not so good, any suggestions would be great.
I do mostly commercial work and have gotten in to some colleges, the class rooms and break rooms are covered in pop and coffee stains. I’ve been using punch at 10oz and working in with the mini, then using the mex with DS at 6oz with fiber plus pads. Turns out looking good, is there a better way? Should I be using max pads / bonnets?
Bonnets, what to use and when to use them?
Best way to wash bonnets?
Pad wear, down to ¼ inch, is that with mex weight on or off? I seem to go thru them fast, maybe to many dry passes.
Upholstery, Punch or DS, brush then bonnet, just bonnet?
Bucket heaters, has anyone thought about or tried mounting an inline heater on the cimex, what about just dropping a heater in the bucket on the unit? Just thinking out loud.
Releasit spot. Do you like it, when do you use it?
Here’s one I haven’t read about. There’s a restoration company we do some work for and they just called and asked if we could clean some surface spots off the ticking on a mattress. Any suggestions.
That’s it for now, hope I haven’t given anyone eye strain.
I eagerly await any guidance that could be passed along.
Thanks
Brad

ive only been in buiz for a little over 2 yrs now, but can tell ya what i have learned:
Max pads for commercial carpet, much better agitation. Use the bonnets when there is a build up of soil (if you cant extract with water)
Do NOT over wet spots that you dont want to come back; rick has a detailed out line on how to do this on his site.
I have been putting the bucket heater right in the Mex, and havent had any problems, yet. Ive been told to heat the water first then add detergent.
Thats all I know, for now! hope it helps |

Brad-
Lets see now, the coffee and pop I see alot I do some coffee house on a campas, I use Fiber Plus pads, DS, heavy traffic prespray with punch, I heat the water with bucket heater. I hit the spots with little solution due to wicking concern. I do not rush the job I always do 1 wet pass followed with 2 dry passes even though I constantly have to fight myself to keep from doing only one dry pass. It will do a great job on pop, coffee and food stains.
On the spotter, I love this stuff, works well on filter lines, post spotting etc, suggest keeping extra on truck customers will want to purchase. I only wish Rick had small 8 oz. we could private label like Jon Don. |

Brad, Bonnets should be used on any bad areas after the Cimex scrubbing (all cotton works best) Best way to wash bonnets is ASAP do not let them sit for days. Use Releasit DS on Uph, brush spots with brush and Encap spot and follow with Makita or look alike drill/polisher. Harbor Freight has one for $29.95 on sale now with variable speed. We bought one and it is impressive at that price. We haven't used ours yet. Bucket heaters can be used in the Cimex or bucket. Releasit EncapSpot is a great product and is compatable with the rest of the line (Punch/Releasit) and should be used as a "system". Mattress spoting can be done the same way as furniture cleaning, but don't expect them to clean as easily as furniture. I do agree with the Honorable Senator from the Great State of Utah (Jeff Van Buren) that 8 and 16 ounce bottles of spotter for customer hand outs would be nice. C-ya
