Gotta luv that "Big Yella"

November 18 2007 at 5:59 AM
Shorty

Did some work on a high rise city office, 2 levels.

Not sure of the rules about pics here, so I only posted wun.

None of the carpet, which the boss said was great, (he looked like a cleaner), glad I didn't say too much. I was dressed better than he was

The pics are all of Cairns on a wet and rainy day due to the remnants of cyclone Guba, our first one of the season, taken from the 13th floor.

Back to "Big Yella", end of the day worked out at $160+ per hour after chemicals and pads.

The lower floor I have done twice, and it was their recommendation that got me the 2 levels.

It's nice to pick up in excess of $2,500.00 on a week-end.

Cheers,

Shorty.

PS::: If anyone wants a look at the pics, drop me a line..........

Postcards from down under

November 18 2007, 3:55 PM

As I said in my previous post, I did not take any photos of the carpet.

Reason for this is the fact that the two levels are the offices of one of the worlds largest accountancy firms.

There are security cameras throughout the premises and I did not want to take the chance that they may think I was photographing files.

So here's a dampener (or eleven)

Cheers,

Shorty.

Thanks

Thanks for all the kind words, especially the email Ray

I've given up caring about what the negative posters may have to say about how I clean and the equipment I use, that is so rampant on several forums.

I do expect to read derogatory remarks, but hey, I got broad shoulders

With this particular job, the previous two cleans were for a large accountancy firm.

They originally got me in to see if the carpets could be made a bit more presentable prior to renovations, if not they would replace the carpet.

After a demo, they did the reno's, I cleaned all their offices, and they got me back to do them again, a year down the track.

They have since been bought out by a much larger accountant.

These people called me in for a quote, told me who my opposition was, and were gob smacked when I told them them that this firm does very good work.

They then told me that I was highly recommended.

The rest, as they say, is history.

I do have to drop the keys back today, so I'll ask if I can take a couple of shots of the carpet then.

Down side of the job ??

Completely sealed building, apart from a couple of balconies, but the doors could not be open due to the wind and the loose paperwork.

NO ACCESS FOR TRUCK MOUNTS

No air con; unless I was prepared to fork out AUD$60.00 per hour

Really no down side due to the cool weather, nice quite surroundings, quiet machine humming away, nice view anyway one looked.

No way a potty; (did I tell you that a "POTTY" is what babies sit on to do their business)? would be able to do this work as good as, as quiet as, in a comparable time frame, nor get the carpet dry without many air movers.

Cheers,

Shorty.
