Releasit and a possible reduction in mold

November 23 2007 at 10:03 PM

Rick Gelinas

A couple of years ago, one of our customers reported something interesting to me. He had been cleaning carpets in a school system that regularly inspected and monitored the carpeting in their schools for mold content. The school system had discovered that the carpets that our customer was cleaning with Releasit appeared to have a considerably lower mold content than other schools in their school system, and they were puzzled about why his carpets had less mold.

Well I found that information intriguing, so I decided to have a polymer scientist with access to a testing laboratory perform some tests with Releasit. Here is the PDF file showing the results of that testing. As you'll observe, there's a marked reduction of mold in the carpet following cleaning with Releasit.

Now in all fairness, this is just one test, so it would be premature to conclude that Releasit inhibits mold. I'm not implying that Releasit is a cure for mold. Additional testing would need to be done to establish that. Yet it was encouraging to see the test showed a reduction of mold in the carpet that was cleaned with Releasit, where there was no reduction on the control section that was cleaned with HWE.

I thought you might be interested in seeing this...

That's really interesting Rick.

One more among many great reasons to use the Releasit line of products.

Is there going to be further testing to confirm the original findings?
