| Now when I am "on the boards" I can enjoy over 350 of my favorite tunes. My grand-daughter added them for me this afternoon. I have a HPf2105 wide screen moniter with 11" x 2" speakers on both sides of the 21" screen. The sound is almost as good as my $1100 Bose acoustic wave machine. Does anyone else listen to music thru your computer while posting or just reading post? |

I use my Windows Media Player to listen to music with my computer as well as synch my music and audio books (mostly success, motivational and fincial cd's) to my mp3 players.
I currently have 15,366 songs (or audio book chapters), by over 1,556 artists ripped to my hard drive. Most recent addition: The Blues Brothers- Definitve Collection with: "(I'm a) Soul Man", "Hey Bartender", "Rubber Biscuit", "Do You Love Me/Mother Popcorn". Dell, outside of the Blues Brothers, I have no idea who the other artist are, likewise those I love and listen to are probably not familar to you. Like Dottie Rambo, Jake Hess, Bill Gaither, Vestal Goodman, Ivan Parker, J.D. Sumner to name a few. Of course we come from diffferent eras. But Del, I always enjoy your post, I don't always understand them, but still enjoy them. |

I'm a bit of a odd mixture musically. My true musical love is Southern Fried Rock-N-Roll and Outlaw Country: Lynyrd Skynyrd, Hank Williams Jr, Waylon Jennings, ZZ Top, Molly Hatchett.
But I also love country music all the way from Jimmie Rodgers, Hank Williams Sr., and Patsy Cline to Blake Shelton, Alabama, and Gary Allan.
I also like 70's Classic Rock and 80's Hair Metal.
But I also love any music with a blues harp (AKA- Harmonica) in it- Little Walter (THE MAN!!!!), Sonny Boy Williamson I & II, Kim Wilson (Fabulous Thunderbirds), Billy Joel, Huey Lewis, Clint Black, Trick Pony and on and on.
I draw the line at Rap music and most Modern Top 40 really does not interest me at all. Make you own luck,

I have Altec Lansing speakers with sub-woofer while listening through Itunes. 10,500 songs are jazz heavy with much pop, R&B, some classical and vocals. Love 70's, 80s jazz ie. Crusaders, Grover Washington, Spyro Gyra etc. I b rockin' while computin'. Some buddies and I are consolidating our libraries, in about a month I'll be up there with you Del.

Anything I can't get from BMG, or my local used shops: CD City, and Bookman's I usually get off of amazon. My wish list currently has 75 CD's in waiting and more I am placing on it right now.

I am a Greatest Hits DC Freak as well. These days every artists has like five Best Of, Greatest Hits, Gold, Platinum, Essential, Complete, Box Set...yata yata yata.
Also a little trick I developed to make sure I get the best one with tthe most songs and the ones that I want:
1) Go to www.allmusic.com
2) Search for the "Artist/Group" that I want.
3) Click on the 'Discography" tab.
4) Click on the 'Compilations" tab.
5) Use the star rating sytem to find excellent choices.
6) 99% of the time AMG (All Music Guide) Staff have an AMG Pick with a check mark the the left of the stars. That is almost alway the CD I go to amazon and either buy or put on my Wish List. Make you own luck,
