Ardex Floors

Alex

I got a call today and from potential customer who must have gotten my # off the internet web. He wanted to know if i could come and give him a free quote. I ask what kind of floor? He stated its an Ardex floor.

I researched on the net for info. (Briefly) It seem to be one of those manufacturers like Kirby who's products is not universal you have to use their parts for their product.

If it is i'm open for some do's and dont's and just some info to go in there as if i know about them until i secure the job and get back on the net to research.

The guy stated that he just want it cleaned and a shine. 2000 sq.ft.

Thanks
Your Servant Alex

I have never serviced any of these floors. But I would suggest purchasing THEIR products and following THEIR maintenance requirements, or else YOU could be held liable for damages.

Also-

Whatever you would normally charge for the enitre job (including your regular chems), charge that amount PLUS the cost of their chemicals. Some manufacturers may want to sell you a case or more at a time. Add the WHOLE case into the price, not just the gallon it would take to do the job. If they don't want to pay, you don't have to do the job.

As far as I am aware, Ardex requires people that do work on Ardex flooring to undergo a training course with them.

For after market work by an "untrained" person, I am not sure how the warranty would stand up.

The customer may have all good intentions to give you the work, but IF that stuff should hit the fan, you may well have to cop the full force of it.

The Ardex web site has a list of authorised applicators world wide if you do not want the job.

Caveat Emptor can also apply to what we do.

Cheers,

Shorty.

I've seen the light, and changed my wicked ways.
