Scissors.

Sorry, but I don't think there is any way to remove hot glue from carpet.

On a side note, it's a great way to perform minor repairs on carpet.
I have repaired many a seam and even delamination problems, with a hot glue gun.

try a hot iron and wet towel,same way as red releif but no chem. wax will come out real easy this way but not sure about hot glue but thats what i would do first.

Phil,

Keep in mind that CGD is most commonly olefin.  Olefin has the lowest melting point of all the synthetic carpet fibers.  They are LUCKY that the holt melt glue did not melt the face fibers to start with.  I personally think your best bet is if it is at all brittle to use a scraper and remove what you can dry and then leave it alone.  You MAY find that over time foot traffic will remove more of it as well.

You have a higher probability of doing more harm then good on this one if you break out the heat and the chemicals.  So basically what Rick sad.

dang it now im going to have to melt some glue on my cgd olefin and see if i can get it out with the iron.this has been bugging me now. maybe after da bears.
