Cimex problem;

I am having a problem with my 19 inch Cimex. Lately it wants to stop turning sometimes and there is also a new squeaking noise as the planetary turns. I have cleaned tens of thousands of square feet in the last 3 years without a single problem.
Someone please tell me what it needs. I have no backup for the Cimex.
Thanks.

Sounds like the belt to me - easy and inexpensive fix...

We have had to replace the bearings in our units. Our machines are used 6 days a week so lots of hours on them, we have a local repair shop do ours the first time was not so easy but now they can do it in a matter of 20 minutes or so not bad considering the amount of square footage each machine cleans every week.

It is most likely what Don said ... "bearings".

As the machines get older they're a lot like humans, they start to creak and groan more and more. I've had old machines with hundreds of thousands of sq ft on them, making the weirdest noises, yet they still ran OK. So don't be too eager to replace the bearings, it'll go a long time with noisy bearings.

And when you need to have them replaced, take Don's advice and have a shop do it for you. Pulling the machine apart is more trouble than it's worth IMHO. As I mentioned in my earlier post this morning, find yourself a good "electric motor repair" shop in your area. An electric motor repair shop is like gold - they can usually take care of anything on the machine, since that's basically what they're set up to do (they work on motors, switches, and bearings).

i found a guy around here but he wants the motor removed from the machine. he doesnt have space or time to do all the machine repairs.

it cost me $31 to have the capacitor rebuilt and he cleaned it up and said all was good.runs better now than when i got it.

other than removing the lower deck from the top they're very easy to work on i think. and even that i think would be easy enough with the right tools.

Steve, "rebuit the capacitor" Are you sure. I have never heard of anyone re-building a capacitor. Normally they just get replaced. I am almost sure a capacitor of that size is not re-buildable.
