Lessons I have Learned

Don't mount your Grandi Groomer on the inside roof of you van. Take time with people. People don't care how much you know until they know how much you care. Never advertise a price of your services, you may live to regret it. If Bill Yeadon tells you some great new marketing program is comming out in 6 months, add 9 months to it.

That's how I comb my hair, just walk in and out of my trailer, under the rake.

Joe, evidently you never cut your head on the rake holders. I have mine secured to the inside side of my van now.

Slow learner here. I still have the rake and broom mounted on the inside roof of the van. However, since the filter bag on the butler is by the back door there is very little climbing into the van anymore. I have hurt my head on those things many times.

OOOOOOOOOOOOOps

December 8 2007, 8:09 PM

I had the bull by the horns there.

Many a time I have scratched my chrome dome on the RAKES BRISTLES, but never on the holder.

Then again, I don't have the same clip type holder as you blokes.

I have two short pieces of conduit (plastic) pipe that my rake handle slides into, from the rear door forward.

These are screwed into the roof bearers.

A larger hole at the bottom of the pipe allows me to put the screw in and through the smaller hole where it is then screwed into the roof bearer.

The rake handle then goes through with no interference.

Cheers,

Shorty.

Buy a Cowboy Hat- they provide wonderful low level safety coverage from minor accidents like that.

Great Tip

December 9 2007, 8:06 AM

Rake holders are about $8 each. Until Shorty mentioned using a short piece of PVC attached to the "roof beams" of the van for the rake to slide thru is a great idea. Total cost: 25 cents. Perhaps a small book titled "Short Tips for Saving Money" by Shorty could save us all a few bucks.

Get a brush does not hurt near as much as a grandi grommer, besides they do a better job of setting the pile
