Hey Dave G! I'm not half fast anymore!

I used my 880 RPM Cimex today for encapping, and it ROCKS! My brother cleaned with my regular carpet Cimex (400 RPM). The only thing I noticed is, man it really goes through pads, BUT, one pass and its clean!
To coin a phase " Try it you'll like it!"

If I am bonneting I always run at 320 rpm, just faster and does a great job. I like the idea of the faster Cimex. On our larger jobs, I would like to go faster. Thanks for posting that Walton.

I haven't heard about this 880 rpm Cimex. What is it? is it the same size and just geared higher? Bigger motor? Any other features? Price?

Thanks.

And Merry Christmas everyone.

Yes Jeremy, its the Marble Grinder 19 inch Cimex that has a 2 hp motor that can be wired up 110/220 volts and turns 880 RPM. I had heard from "Crazy Dave " that he encaps with his marble machine, and I didn't want to be labeled "half fast" so I bought one and my first job was a 32,000 encap job. Its a sweet FAST ride!

Hi Jeremy

The machine that the old and slow Craig is referring to is the CR48DF. As he eloquently put it, it does turn at 880 rpms and we’ve had very good success with using it on commercial carpets. If you are currently using a Cimex you understand how much faster a Cimex is over other options for scrubbing a carpet. You should see close to twice the production time with the CR48DF over the standard machine. Not only because it spins twice as fast but there is substantially less operator fatigue as well. Because it spins faster you’ll notice that the machine has to be “pushed less” and actually glides over the carpet. If someone is need of a Cimex, even if they actually are planning on doing stone, I’d recommend the DF machine. If they are adding a new machine, again, I’d recommend going with the DF unit. Whether or not they use it on stone, they’ll be glad they made the choice; then on top of that, they now have a great option to get into stone when they’re ready.

And yes Craig, it doesn’t matter if I’m pushing a Cimex or riding a Serotta – I am FAST. And I don’t need no stink’n little chain ring neither. Us big guys only use two chain rings. (‘Course it could have something to do with being a Flat Lander too.)

Dave , I am old and slow. However, if I can ever get you to come out west , I'll have to tie a rope around you and drag you up the mountains on your high powered Sereotta, since its only known "flat lands".Its then at 10,000 feet on a 20 percent incline , you'll be screaming for a lower "grannie" gear! Then you'll truly know the cheese burgers revenge! Not even your Cimex will be able to save you.

Hey Craig Lemond,

Dave's ALL talk. His girly legs would be no match to a stealth mountain biker. It's true that Dave has a sweet bike. But it's kind of a waste when has to wrap a sports bra around his belly so it doesn't flop over the top tube.

Hey Lance , it sounds like we need to have Dave just drive the "Broom wagon" , that way we won't have to slow down for him.

OK Orbea Boy, bring it on. Actually it’s been a long time since we had a chance to ride together, for that matter, it's been a long time since I’ve been on my bike.

As for the “Broom Wagon”, I was thinking I’d just through my bike inside and drive to the top and then wet myself as I rode back down; hoping and praying that I avoid developing any roadrash on the way down.
